10 PLACES TO VISIT IN ENGLAND

10 PLACES TO VISIT IN ENGLAND

Hey everyone :) welcome back to my blog post.
So today I thought I would share with you 10 amazing places that I have been to or heard about. So if you're planning a day out with your friends or family, this might just give you some ideas on where to go.

But just before we start, I would just like to say that these images are not my own, I just found them online. And these destinations are not in any sort of order.

Anyway, if you love adventures and a whole lot of walking, then this is the post for you!
Lets start...

THE LAKE DISTRICT
I love the Lake District, it is such a beautiful place and is amazing for holidays and especially for landscape photos. The Lake District is a mountainous region in West England. It is popular for holiday destinations, and is famous for the lakes, forests and mountains. More than 15 million people visit the Park each year and I'm not surprised because it's gorgeous. It is the largest national park in England and provides the perfect environment for activities like the Lake Windermere boat cruises or go kayaking or canoeing for a more adventurous time. It is the perfect setting to explore and enjoy.

DALBY FOREST
I love Dalby forest for adventurous days out. If any of you have seen my Holiday video that I posted on Youtube, then you will know that I have obviously been numerous times before as it is one of mine and my family's favourite places to visit. It is also known as the Great Yorkshire Forest and offers over 8,000 acres of woodland for you to explore. It includes play areas, BBQ's and a whole lot of cycling and walking trails. There is a delicious restaurant and plenty of activities like the very popular Go Ape and the segway experience. Dalby Forest is the ideal place to visit with your family in the summer.

THE FORBIDDEN CORNER
Another one of my fave places, The Forbidden Corner. I actually went there on a yr 6 school trip, and for my 13 birthday! It is a unique labyrinth of tunnel, chambers and surprises within a four acre beautiful garden. A tourist attraction unlike anywhere else and is ideal for adventurous. There are statues that squirt water at you, stepping stones, horse heads, legs sticking out of walls, inside forests, a dancing frog fountain, a really cute massive bear make from twigs, mazes. So many weird and wonderful things to see. And that's why it's one of my faves.

YORKSHIRE WILDLIFE PARKS
Another fun place to visit. Especially if you love animals. Yorkshire Wildlife Park is the UK's No.1 walk- through wildlife park adventure, with 400 animals and 70 species of animals!!! Like what! It is Yorkshire's fastest growing wildlife attraction and is definitely a great place to spend the day at. With animals from A-Z like Anteaters to zebras!! There are Polar bears, meerkats, wombats and tortoises. Definitely a place you need to visit.

RAINFOREST CAFE- LONDON
So I thought since this blog post is mainly about places that include a whole lot of travelling and walking. I thought I would add a bit more of a delicious destination for you to visit. It is a toy shop and a cafe and is the most amazing cafe that I have ever been to my self. It is desgined as an exotic jungle that recreates the sights and sounds of the Amazon rainforest. Like pretend thunder storms and moving elephants! This cafe is definitely an ideal spot to eat at.

BOLTON ABBEY
So I have never been to Bolton Abbey so I cannot speak about his from my personal experience but, I know a lot of people who have been here and I have heard good things about it. Bolton Abbey is in Wharfedale, North Yorkshire and takes it's name from the 12th century Augustinian monastery also known as Bolton Priory. There are a number of events like the Easter Trail and the Welly Walk and there is also and open air theatre. There is over 30,000 acres of beautiful countryside and 80 miles of footpaths to walk and explore. You can walk along the riverside, woodlands and moorland paths and enjoy the local restaurants, tea rooms, cafes, gift shops and picnic areas.  And for longer stays, there are hotels and unique holiday cottages. Sounds like the perfect place to spend summer to me.

JANET'S FOSS
Another place I am yet to visit, but my friend Hannah has been here before and posted a lovely picture on her Instagram of this waterfall, so I thought it must be pretty amazing. Janet's Foss is a small waterfall in the village of Malham, North Yorkshire. It is a limestone outcrop with a deep pool below and was traditionally used for sheep dipping (lol). Janet's Foss is in the Yorkshire Dales and the reason why it's called 'Janet's' Foss is because Janet was actually the queen of the fairies and supposedly lived in a cave behind the waterfall. The surrounding woodland is alive with bird songs and beautiful bluebells. Great for photography.

 THE YORKSHIRE DALES
The Yorkshire Dales is an upland area in Northern England in Yorkshire. There are river valleys and beautiful hills. The Yorkshire Dales has many moods, from wild and windswept to quiet and peaceful. It offers dramatic limestone scenery, heather moorland and delightful towns and villages to visit and has a highly photogenic character. There is some spectacular natural features such as the towering white cliffs and dramatic waterfalls (like Janet's Foss) sometimes hidden in deep wooded ravines. Another place I would love to visit.

MOTHER SHIPTON'S CAVE
One more of my fave spots. Mother Shipton's cave is at Knaresborough, North Yorkshire, near to the river Nidd. It is situated next to the Petrifying Well, one of England's oldest visitor attractions which tells the story of mother Shipton and the waters that turn objects to stone. It has been open since 1630 and has been visited by millions of people from all over the world. There you can learn about Mother Shipton's birthplace and her amazing story.  There are many themed events that run during in school holidays, which makes it enjoyable for the whole family.

AIRA FORCE
One Kilo before entering the lake, there is a leap down a rocky and steep sided ravine at the falls, known as Aira Force. The water falls approximately 22 metres to a rocky pool, from there the pool  continues through a shallow valley to the lake. Aira Force is probably one of the most famous Lake District waterfalls and is definitely one that I want to visit when I go to the Lake District int eh summer hols. :)))
